The Canadian Space Agency has officially opened it's own mission control centre which will allow it to monitor day to day activities aboard the ISS.

From CTV.ca
Quote
Mission control operations for the Canadarm were handled by Houston until May when the new Canadian mission control center first became fully functional.

The centre had been up and running for a while but only certified by NASA in May.

"We passed with flying colours," CSA President Marc Garneau said.

NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe said the mission control centre in Longueuil is "another important chapter in what has been a terrific partnership over a lot of years.

"It's now advancing it to the next level."

I know I'm resurrecting a really old thread but I'll get to spend the week at CSA this week.  If I get any good pictures I'll post them.  Looking forward to learning about Canadian robotics!

Have a good time! And if your plane gets rerouted to Hamilton or Toronto for some reason let me know. Smile
